108.72 MWp Solar Power Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The 108.72 MWp Layla Solar PV Plant forms part of the third round of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program led by the Ministry of Energy. The PPA was executed between Layla Solar Energy Company, an affiliate of ACWA Power and [the project company], and the Saudi Power Procurement Company as the off-taker. We delivered the project on a turnkey basis, providing end-to-end EPC services encompassing design, engineering, construction, execution, testing, and commissioning of a fully completed and operational solar power plant. The plant incorporates an optimised configuration of bifacial PV modules, string inverters and single-axis trackers with an optimised pitch to maximise power generation. It is designed for a 25-year operating life. To reduce water consumption and operating costs, we deployed automatic robotic cleaning systems. All major equipment was procured from reputed manufacturers. We completed the installation of the 108.72 MWp capacity within the contractual schedule with no delays. To enhance time and cost efficiency, we engaged local contractors for procurement and construction, achieving a higher local content level than the contractual requirement under applicable KSA regulations.
